The edge of reason? Sanity? Adventure? Real life? We literally live on the Edge - with a little cliff across the street and everything. Somedays it feels like more of a mantra than an address.
Hello! For those of you who have lost track-- we are currently living here in Morgantown, West Virginia. Update your address books because we'll be here for awhile (2012).
Andrew is doing his a residency at WVU in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (aka ENT). We are down to our last year here. Not that anyone is keeping count. Elena and Lucas are both in school, and number three will be here any time now. I (Alicia) have the wonderful privelage (most days) of staying home with the kids.
When I asked her how the banana bread batter tasted she responded, "It's delectable."
This winter Elena will enter the "Sunbeam" class at church. I asked her if she was excited to be a "sunbeam." She looked at me with a very concerned expression and said, "I don't want to be a Sunbeam, I want to be a little girl. And I want my rabbit to stay a rabbit."
Lucas now lets me know when he has pooped by bending over with his head on the floor, looking up at his diaper and saying "poop, poop." I'm so proud.
Elena has developed a bad habit of picking the skin off of her lips. She does this until they bleed. I saw her picking at her face one day and asked her to stop picking her lip. She replied, "Mommy, I'm not picking my lip - I'm picking my nose." So much better.
Yesterday I was hosing the porch off after the kids spilled an entire bottle of bubbles and I come in to find both kids using my laundry detergent powder as a sand box. They were having fun, and my floor was very clean after wiping up the mess.
Elena came to me with her mouth wide open, cleared her throat and told me there was a frog in there and asked me to go to the doctor to get it out. Drew was there and took care of it for us.
